Study on Electrochemical Performance of Sensor for Lactate Detection from Sweat

Screentec’s Project Manager Ms. Liisa Seluska has finalized her studies for Life Science Technologies at the Aalto University.

Topic of her Master’s thesis is: Detection of lactate from sweat with screen-printed carbon electrodes.

The aim of this thesis was to develop a low-cost screen-printed sensor for lactate detection from sweat. In this study, electrode design, material and bioactivation chemistry effects on the electrochemical performance of the sensor was investigated. Obtained results and developed methods support company’s product development and quality control. The thesis was conducted as a part of FUDIS (Future of Diagnostics) project funded by Business Finland, in cooperation with Aalto University and Screentec Oy.

Screentec congratulates Liisa on a job well done!
