The partnership between Screentec and PalmSens continues to grow, bringing exciting opportunities and innovations in the field of wearable impedance measurement. As leaders in our respective fields, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in medical technology, and this collaboration is a perfect example of the power of synergy between two visionary companies.
Combining Expertise for Advanced Solutions
Screentec specializes in designing and manufacturing disposable medical electrodes for diagnostics and continuous health monitoring. PalmSens, on the other hand, is renowned for its cutting-edge electrochemical measurement instruments. Our joint effort has resulted in a wearable sensor solution that seamlessly integrates with PalmSens’ potentiostat, The Sensit Wearable, providing real-time impedance measurement in a compact, user-friendly device.

By combining our expertise, we have created a powerful tool for healthcare professionals, researchers, athletes, and individuals alike. This wearable sensor takes impedance measurement out of the lab and makes it accessible for a variety of real-world applications.
First Steps Towards Market Adoption
“Since the initial launch of the Sensit Wearable, we have received requests from prestigious institutions, who are interested in using our electrodes. This is a promising indicator of the global demand for user-friendly and versatile measurement solutions”, Mikko Paakkolanvaara, CTO of Screentec Oy, highlights.
In response to such inquiries, Screentec is aligning with PalmSens to ensure smooth communication and customer service. At Screentec, we are committed to ensuring that this collaboration benefits all stakeholders. In line with our partnership strategy, Screentec directly handles the sales of electrodes, while PalmSens manages potentiostat sales. This seamless division ensures that customers can access both electrodes and electronics with ease, supported by the expertise of both companies.
“Making a wearable electrochemical biosensor requires many different skills. Having an example wearable electrode and potentiostat that just works, greatly reduces time to market”, says Ardy van den Berg, Business Developer at PalmSens.
In terms of manufacturing, we have fine-tuned our processes to meet the evolving needs of our clients. For instance, while Screentec has successfully used 3D printing for electrode mounting brackets, PalmSens has utilized injection molding to provide even more precise and reliable parts. This insight is valuable as we continue to produce demonstration patches and investigate potential cost-effective solutions for custom designs.
Tailored Solutions for Every Need
We understand that no two customers have the same requirements. That’s why we are prepared to adapt and enhance our products, whether it is refining existing electrodes or developing entirely new ones based on specific demands at Screentec, or help designing a high volume wearable potentiostat at PalmSens based on the EmStat Pico Core potentiostat chip.

It is important to note that the demonstration electrodes do not have CE marking and are intended for research purposes only. For clients looking to further develop the electrodes, Screentec offers the flexibility to create custom products tailored to specific requirements. Our pricing structure reflects this flexibility, offering cost-effective options for research purposes while also enabling further product development as needed.
The collaboration with PalmSens is a perfect example of how partnerships can accelerate innovation. We look forward to working together with our customers to develop even more advanced and tailored solutions for the future.
