Advanced Wearable Medical Electrodes

In addition to standard ECG measurements, we offer the integration of temperature, heart rate variability, and motion sensors, all designed to support AI algorithms that enhance data interpretation for users. With our extensive know-how and hands-on experience in wearable patches, including ECG, EOG, EEG, and other biofeedback measurements, we are capable of developing and manufacturing flexible sensors for a wide range of medical applications that require stellar signal and durability in extreme wear conditions.

The electrodes we produce can be categorized into three main segments: simple, passive high-performance electrodes, and fully integrated electronics. Depending on the specific use case, each approach provides a viable and effective solution to meet the demands of diverse medical applications.

Screentec partners with you to develop the ideal medical device solution, precisely tailored to your clientele, users, wear time, demographic, diagnostic requirements, and comfort. We provide tested recommendations while actively driving innovation through our R&D and supplier collaborations. This enables us to find more efficient, sustainable, and biocompatible solutions to complex challenges, proactively supporting our customers within tightening regulatory requirements.

Do you have an application in mind where you would need custom electrodes?

For over 10 years Screentec has been applying its’ knowledge and experience in the field of printed electronics to manufacture custom disposable medical electrodes for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Because of our experience in electronics, we are able to offer our customers the same high quality and reliability that we provide with our other products.

Working with Screentec has helped us to deliver a robust, high-quality product, which is already helping patients with cardiac arrhythmia.

 Electroencephalography
(EEG) Electrodes

EEG sensors capture vital electrical signals from the head for diverse applications, including sleep monitoring, seizure detection, intensive care, and neurological research. Screentec provides high-performance EEG electrodes in both dry (for ease of use) and wet (for quick setup) varieties.

We specialize in optimizing signal quality, enhancing usability, and minimizing artifacts from movement or electrical noise. Our expertise in material selection and shielding ensures superior signal integrity and ergonomics, especially for demanding long-term or sleep measurements.

Do you have an application in mind that could benefit from our EEG electrodes?

Sleep Disorders

Effective diagnosis of sleep disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Central Sleep Apnea (CSA), Restless Legs Syndrome, Narcolepsy, and Parasomnia relies on biofeedback measurements (EMG, ECG, EEG, EOG). These skin measurements are often enhanced by auxiliary measurements such as SpO2, Cardiac (ECG), and flow metering.

While in-hospital Polysomnography (PSG) remains a gold standard, wearable and adhesive patches are transforming diagnostics by enabling convenient, long-term home use without hospital visits. Screentec’s advanced integration capabilities allow us to develop accessories for both single and multi-parameter detection, perfectly suited for comprehensive home-based sleep diagnostics.

Bioimpedance

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, or BIA, is done by sending mild electrical signals through the body and measuring the resistance of the human body. While this might seem like a strange concept, BIA can gather a lot of information about the subject. Body fat for example, acts as an isolator – the higher the body fat, the greater the impedance. BIA allows us to gain estimations of body fat percentage in a non-invasive manner. BIA can also be used to estimate the total body water of a subject. This makes it suitable for a great variety of potential applications, not just in wellness.

Partner with Screentec for your next BIA innovation.

Stimulation

Electrostimulation, which uses electrical pulses to stimulate nerves or muscles (often with feedback measurement), offers a wide range of applications. Benefits include rehabilitation, pain management, improved recuperation (after injury or training), anesthesia assessment, and the diagnosis of various conditions.

Whatever your specific need or desired wear time is (from short tests to long-term use up to one month), Screentec provides comprehensive support for your electrostimulation application.

Functional Electrical Stimulation

Functional Electrical Stimulation, or FES for short, uses mild electrical pulses to trigger movement in the muscles. FES is used almost exclusively in medical applications, and use of FES electrodes should always be done under supervision of medical professionals. One of the most common applications is the rehabilitation of muscles after paralysis or nerve injury, often meant as a temporary therapy to restore certain motor functions.

Please note, while there are variants of FES electrodes that are implanted into the body, Screentec specializes in ‘on-the-skin’ electrodes, and we do not currently manufacture implantable electrodes.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) delivers pain relief by sending electrical pulses through skin electrodes for various acute and chronic conditions. Unlike standard recording electrodes, TENS electrodes often face a unique challenge: strong stimulation can cause material reactions (e.g., silver/silver chloride with hydrogel) leading to skin irritation and yellowing.

Screentec offers specialized materials and innovative solutions to prevent these problems, ensuring your TENS electrodes are consistently reliable and of superior quality.
